Harold Glenn Barnes, 62, of Owenton, passed away Friday, February 13, 2009, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Born January 20, 1947, in Wolfe Co, he was the son of the late Garrett and Dorothy Bronson Barnes and was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Acy and William Jefferson Barnes. Harold was a truck driver, a Army veteran and a member of the Corinth Baptist Church. He was very active in the Odd Fellows Emmanuel Lodge #213 and the Owen Masonic #128 F & AM, where he was a past Grand Master and served as past District Deputy Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge. Harold is survived by his son Harold Glenn Barnes, Jr. of Greenville, S.C; his daughter Glenda Sue Barnes of Greenville, S.C; his brother Calvin Barnes of Newtonsville, OH; three sisters, Fannie Osborne of Owenton; Lillie Barnes of West Virginia and Tillie (Tom) Barnett of Winchester and four grandchildren. He is also survived by the family of Jeff and Jenifer Caudill whom he adopted as his own. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, February 16th, from 10am - 2 pm. Funeral Services will follow at 2pm. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to funeral expense.
