Harlan Moore

Harlan Moore, age 69, of Owenton passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY.Born February 14, 1949 in Grant County, KY, he was the son of the late Delmar and Alba Powell Moore and preceded in death by his siblings, Delmar, Gene and Gary Moore and Kathy Wilhoite, Vicki Jacobs, Joyce Robinson and Judy Moore.  Harlan was a machinist for Sprague and Schlumberger for many years before retiring from Bendix.Harlan is survived by his wife, whom he married on February 6, 1971, Shirley Renfro Moore; his daughters, Kim (Travis) Hunter and Cyndi Emmons; his grandchildren, Austyn Wagner, Autumn Hunter, Noah Hunter and Kade Emmons.  He is also survived by his siblings, Carol (Curt) Patton, Pat (Wayne) Caldwell, and Paula (Tommy) Starks as well as several nieces and nephews.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5-8 pm.  Funeral services will held at 11am Saturday with Pastor Jerry Van Pelt presiding.  Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Owen County Children's Fund.
