Hallie Hammond Papierski

Mrs. Hallie Audas Papierski, age 90, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2012 at the New Horizons Medical Center in Owenton. Born August 3, 1921, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Owen and Maggie Tucker Hammond. She was the widow of Thomas Audas and Arthur Papierski. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Nora Hammond, Myrtle Beckham and Nellie Worthington and her brothers, Claude, Albert, Chester, Elmer, Marvin and Owen Jr. Surviving are her son, Alan W. (Linda) Audas of Walton; her grandchildren, Terry (Denise) Audas of Cincinnati, OH, Kimberly Audas of Falmouth and Tommy Audas of Walton; eight great grandchildren; her sister, Susie Crawdord Sullivan of Carrollton; her brother, Audry Hammond of Warsaw; numerous nieces and nephews. Hallie Had wonderful neighbors and lots of friends; a special friend (like a sister) for many years, Mrs. Emile White, also survives, as well as her caregiver and great niece, Teresa Swigert. Mrs. Hallie worked at Economy Wholesale Drug Company for 25 years. She volunteered at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Leestown Road, Lexington for 30 years. She was a member of the V.F.W. #630 Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 313. She loved to dance. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, May 3rd from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11am with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post Post 277, PO BOX 155, WALTON, KY 41094; the American Cancer Society (Sister's Act Relay team) or the American Heart Association.
