Gymmie Delora Mason

Gymmie Delora Mason, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. Born on November 22, 1955, Gymmie lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and a genuine love for those around her.

Gymmie’s career as an assembler at Itron was a testament to her strong work ethic and attention to detail. Beyond her professional life, Gymmie found joy in simple pleasures that spoke to her vibrant personality. She was a devoted fan of horror movies, appreciating the thrill and artistry that the genre offered. Her love extended deeply to her dogs, Bougie and Bridgette, who were constant sources of comfort and happiness. Above all, Gymmie treasured being surrounded by people, thriving on the connections and bonds she nurtured throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving children: Justin Rapp, Shannon (Mike) Hurtt, and Erin Renzi. Gymmie found immense pride in her grandchildren—Kyra, Kylie, Justin Rapp, Austin, Kylin, Michael, Logan, Nolan Hurtt, and Sean Renzi— several great-grandchildren, and her sister, Velta Carlin.

Gymmie was preceded in death by her father, J.D. Chesney; her mother, Delia Johnson Chesney; and her sister, Opal Fuson. Their memories remain an integral part of Gymmie's story and are fondly remembered.

Visitation will be held on March 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at New Funeral Homes, located at 202 N. Main Street, P.O. Box 474, Owenton, KY 40359. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. All who knew Gymmie are welcome to join in honoring her life and legacy.
