Guthrie Wayne Long

Guthrie Wayne Long, 65 of Owenton passed away on Thursday, March 17th at the New Horizon Medical Center. He was the son of the late Guthrie Doyle and Aline E. Bennett Long. He was a former carpenter and was a U.S. Marine Vietnam Veteran. Surviving are his wife, Mary Betty Minor Long. his son, Tony Long of Owenton, his daughters, Crystal (Gerald) Baxter of Owenton, Margina (Lonnie) King of Owenton and Angie (David) Meriwether of Owenton. His brother, Butch Long of Harrison County, and his sisters, Julie Whitaker of Owenton, Betty cain of Shelbyville, and Janet Harstead of Bowling Green. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, an Aunt, Uncle and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 1pm at the Mcdonald and New Funeral Home on Main street, visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8pm. Burial will be in the Squiresville Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
