Greg Nix

John Gregory "Greg" Nix, age 66, of Jonesville, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Born August 26, 1956, in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late Wilmer Ray and Lois Geraldine Wolf Nix.  He was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Meeks. Greg proudly served his country in the United States Army, with the Combat Engineers, for over 15 years. He was a devoted member of Seven Hills Church South, where he never missed an opportunity to invite others to church. He was a longtime truck driver and most recently retired from the Ark Encounter in the maintenance department. He was a talented handyman, who enjoyed building and woodworking.  He will be remembered as being kind, loving, and patriotic.

Greg will be missed by his wife, Johannah Vendler Nix; his sons, Josh Nix, Aaron Nix, Steven Nix, and Owen Nix; his stepson, Glenn Plunkett; seven grandsons; his sister, Betty Meeks-Beach; and his beloved female cat, Mr. Gray.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 10 am until Noon.  Funeral services will follow at Noon with Pastor, Seth Weigand. Greg will be laid to rest, with military honors, in the Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Wreaths for KY Veterans Cemetery North.
