Glen Dunavent

Mr. Glen Dunavent, age 77, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at his home. Born February 15, 1938, in Covington KY, he was the son of the late Delbert and Mayme Nix Dunavent. Glen was a lifelong farmer and worked as a Shipping Supervisor for Continental Can Corporation. He later worked as a dispatcher for Osborne Trucking. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and UK Wildcat fan and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. Glen was a devoted member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and blessed others with his music talent, playing guitar for many years with the Sweet Owen Stringers. Surviving are his wife Joyce Rose Dunavent; his children, Bart (Jan) Dunavent, Kevin Dunavent and Stacy (Jarrod) Lilly; his brother, Ronnie (Donna) Dunavent; his grandchildren, Anthony, Andrew, Aaron, Clay, Kirk and Savannah; his step grandchildren, Andrew, Ian and Olivia and five great grandchildren. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Monday, July 27th from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11am at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
