Gertrude Clifton

Alice “Gertrude” Clifton, age 94 of Owenton, passed away Friday, July 15th at her residence. Born October 15, 1916 in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Ethebert and Goldie Baker Rose and the widow of Arvin J. Clifton. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Nora Cook, Frankie and Elton Rose. Mrs. Clifton was a homemaker, seamstress, baker and a member of the Richland Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Bobby and Marc Clifton of Owenton, Ronnie Clifton of Pinconning, MI, Linda Allnutt of Owenton and betty Warford of Lawrenceburg; two brothers, Jimmy Rose of Corinth and Richard Rose of Frankfort. Sixteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Sunday, July 17th from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2pm with Bro. Jesse Bourne, Bro. Charles Johnson and Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier presiding. Memorial contributions are suggested to Richland Baptist Church or the Family Life Center.
