Gerald A. Minch

Mr. Gerald Minch, age 80, of Owenton, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the home of his son. Born April 1, 1935, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Roy S and Madie Martin Minch. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Charles and Vernon Minch. Gerald was a retired farmer, grocery owner and Guardianship Manager for the Commonwealth of KY in the Cabinet for Human Resources. He loved his church, Squiresville Baptist, singing with the Squiresville Trio, fishing, playing cards and all of his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of over 60 years, Shirley Lilly Minch; his sons, Glenn (Evelyn) Minch, Paul (Leslee) Minch and Gary (Leslie) Minch; his grandchildren, Andrew, Megan, Alysha, Cody and Brittany and his great grandchildren, Jayla and Robbie. Also surviving are his siblings, Mary A. Gibson and David Minch. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday with Bro. Craig Howard officiating.
