Geneva P. "Gene" Satterwhite, age 94, of Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.
Born December 4, 1925, in Olive Hill, KY, she was the daughter of the late Clyde & Ella Burchett P'Simer. She was the widow of William "Bill" Pelfrey and William Judson "Judd" Satterwhite. She was also preceded in death by her children, Carolyn Sechrest and Ron Pelfrey; her grandchildren, Brian Sechrest and Emily Morgan and her sisters, Loveda Satterwhite, Opal Gilliam, Nancy Kilgallin and Lodena McCleese. Gene was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She loved to cook, sew, and make ceramics and even had her own kiln. She also spent much of her time gardening, canning vegetables, and quilting.
She is survived by her daughters, Traci (Chad) Morgan and Kay (Dan) Marksberry; her grandchildren, Ryan and Ron Pelfrey, Scott, Brett, and Erin Marksberry and Sebrena Harris; her great-grandchildren, Sara, Grace, Heather, Myles, Mason, Madison, McKenna, Emma, Drew and Amanda; great-great-grandchildren, Matthew, Amelia, Charlee, Taylor, Ellison, Liam, Brendan and Riley, and her siblings, Gayle, Wanda, Brenda, Gladys, and Katie.
McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Monday, August 17, 2020, from Noon until 2 pm . This will be a pass-through visitation with social distancing and masks required. A graveside funeral will follow at 2 pm with Bro. Dan Marksberry presiding. Burial will be in the Jonesville Cemetery.
