Gary Dunavent

Gary Dunavent, 71, of Lebanon, Indiana passed away on Friday January 25 th at SHC of Parkwood in Lebanon.

Gary was born in Frankfort Kentucky on November 10, 1947 to the late Clarence and Marie (Ayres) Dunavent. He was proceeded in death by his brother Rick and daughter Shelley Marie. Gary was raised in Owenton Kentucky, graduated from Owen County High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University for a short time.

He had owned Bishop Feed store with his cousin Jerry Jones. In 1979, Gary moved to Indiana to start the ADP office in Indianapolis. When he retired he had worked for Ameritech and IBM. Gary Married Lisa Isenhower on September 21 st 1985. He enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling and playing cards. Gary was a good joke and story teller and loved to be the life of the party. He held memberships at the Eagles and Moose Lodge in Lebanon Indiana. Gary enjoyed living in Indiana and made many friends, but his heart was always in Kentucky. He cherished his many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gary is survived by his wife, Lisa, son Brad (Michelle) and daughter Jean-Marie. Grandchildren Luke, Lucy, Julian and Khloe Dunavent. Many nieces and nephews.

Gary will be traveling back home to Kentucky. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Saturday, Saturday February 2, 2019 from 11am until 1pm.  Funeral services will follow at  1pm with burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the John Isenhower Scholarship Fund or the 1 st Christian Church of Owenton.
