Freeman K. Smith

Freeman K. Smith, age 78, of Owenton, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

Born August 12, 1943, on Brush Creek in Owen County, he was the son of the late Fred K. and Zula B. Lilly Smith. He was also preceded in death by his sister,  Annabelle (Donald) Wallace. Freeman was a member of Greenup Fork Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Army. He went on to retire from Bendix with over 32 years as a machinist. He ran a small engine repair shop and could always be found tinkering in his shop. Freeman loved the outdoors, keeping his yard, and growing beautiful flowers.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working jigsaw puzzles.

He will be missed by his wife of over 51 years, Tilda Walters Smith; his children, Cindy "Lil' Bit" Juett and Temothy K. Smith; his grandchildren, Anastasia Juett and Triston Juett; his brother, Eugene (Dorothy) Smith; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 3 to 5 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 5 pm with Bro.
