Frederick Osborne

December 9, 1931 — October 11, 2008

Frederick “Freddie” Osborne, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, October 11th, at his home. Born December 9, 1931, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Robert and Ruby Isabelle Stewart Osborne and was preceded in death by his siblings, Lewis J. Osborne and Joyce Welch. Freddie was a former co-owner of the Owenton Grocery Store and later worked as a field engineer for Owen Electric. He was a Korean War Army Veteran serving as a Corporal. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #123 F&AM, the VFW and a member of the Owenton First Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Mason Osborne; his two daughters, Gayla Marlene (Pat) Gorman of Florence and Vicki Ann (Paul) Gibson of Owenton; two sisters, Joann Orsburn and Freda Marston of Owenton and one granddaughter Michelle Gibson. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location, Monday, October 13th, from 4 -8pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1pm at the funeral home with Bro. Wayne Kelly and Bro. Jesse Bourne presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Owenton/Owen County Fire Department or Charity of Choice.
