Freda Marston

Freda Marston, age 82, passed away on August 7, 2024, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born to the late Robert and Ruby Stewart Osborne, Freda lived a life of dedication, love, and service.

Freda worked as a nurse’s aide for over 16 years at Owen County Memorial Hospital and New Horizons Medical Center, where her compassion and care touched the lives of many patients and their families. She also served as a bookkeeper at Southern States Cooperative for over 42 years, building lasting relationships with customers who soon became friends.

A devoted member of Long Ridge Baptist Church, Freda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her commitment to her work and her community was unwavering, and she was known for her kindness and dedication. Freda’s greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mamaw.

She is survived by her children, Kristi (Brian) Collins and Barry Marston, and her cherished grandchildren: Jason Marston, Jordan (Kevin) Jones, Ryan Marston, Tyler (Kenzie) Fitzgerald, Makenzie (Mike) Stafford, Blake (Samantha) Collins, and Austin Collins. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Ryli, Taylor, and Learik Collins; Myles and Krew Fitzgerald; Jackson Stafford; Austin Jones; and Baby Stella Stafford, who is due soon.

Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Marston, and her siblings, L.J. Osborne, Freddy Osborne, Joyce Welch, and Joan Orsburn.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends for visitation, at the Main Street location, on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 4 - 8 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am with Bro. Roger Alford presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions are suggested to Long Ridge Baptist Church or Owenton Center Activities Fund
