Franklin "Joe" Parker Furnish

Franklin "Joe" Parker Furnish, age 85 of Owenton, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Born December 4, 1934, in Scott County, he was the son of Carl and Myrtle Furnish. Joe was married for 50 years to Odella Furnish who preceded him in death. Also preceding him was his infant daughter, Susan Jo Furnish; siblings, Sue Kemper, Thomas, and Carl Morton Furnish and his daughter-in-law, Kim. He was a farmer, who raised horses, cattle, and loved dogs and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

He will be missed by his son, David Furnish, his siblings, Jane and Johnny Bob Furnish and several nieces and nephews.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, October 26, 2020, from 11- 12:45 pm. This will be a pass-through visitation with social distancing and masks required. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm, in the Owenton Cemetery, with Bro. Craig Howard and Bro. Dale Adkins presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
