Frances "Snooks" Barbour

Frances “Snooks” Barbour, 80, of Owenton, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born December 11, 1928 in Kenton County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Sophia Willenburg and the widow of John Henry Barbour. She was a retired School Bus Driver, a farmer, a homemaker and a member of the Long Ridge Baptist Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Jean C. Jones and Mickey (Richard) Miller of Owenton; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, January 20th, from 4-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11am Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
