Forest Delano Smith

Mr. Forest Delano Smith, age 85 of Sparta, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.Born November 4, 1932, in the Sweet Owen Community of Owen County, he was the son of the late Julius and Nellie Estes Smith and preceded in death by his son Rodney Bond Smith.  Forest was a retired employee of Gibson Greeting Card and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.Surviving are his wife, Mary L. Bickers Smith; his son, Larry (Bonnie) Smith; grandson Joshua Aaron Smith and great-grandchildren, Joselyn, Jase, Jensen, and Jonah.  Also surviving is his sister Myrtle Wright.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Graveside services will be held in the Owenton Cemetery on Wednesday, November 29th at 11 am with Bro. Denny French presiding.
