Ford Reed

Ford Reed, 84 and a resident of Sparta, Ky, passed away Monday, November 29th, at the New Horizons Medical Center in Owenton. Born August 14, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Sarah Reed. Ford was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. Ford served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He later worked as a farmer and knife maker. He is survived by his wife: Eilene Thorp Reed; two sons: Howard Reed (Sheila) of Aurora, In., and William D. Reed (Kim) of Sparta; one daughter: Ollie Dunavent (Bill) of Sparta, Ky. Eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. Visitation for Mr. Reed will be held Wednesday, December 1st, from 4 until 8pm at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 1pm and will be held at the funeral home. Rev. Howard Chipman will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Gallatin County Life Squad.
