Florence E. Cook

Florence Evelyn Webster Cook, age 83, of Owenton, passed away, Friday, October 11, 2013 at Owenton Center following a long illness. Born April 19, 1930, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Rosa Kinman Webster and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Duvall Blake and her grandson, Matthew Ray Duvall. Mrs. Cook was a 1948 graduate of Carroll County High School and a 27-year employee of Kentucky State Government. She was a member of Greenup Fork Baptist Church where she had served as pianist, Sunday School teacher, and church secretary. In 1991, she was named Owen County Mother of the Year. Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Donald M. Cook; her three daughters, Sandra (Terry) Parker Magel of Frankfort, Peggy (Keith) Hatter of Lexington, Barbara (Fred) Burch of Frankfort; two sons, Danny (Kim) Duvall and Donald (Regina) Duvall of Owenton; stepdaughter, Debbie (Darrell) Howard; two stepsons Gene (Jan) Cook and Jerry (Regina) Cook all of Owenton; her sister, Rosemary Riddle of Frankfort; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Bearers will be her grandsons, John B. Parker, Andrew S. Hatter, Dustin Q. Duvall, Nathan M. Duvall, Jordan T. Duvall and Fred W. Burch, V. Honorary Bearers will be her grandchildren, Emily M. Wylie, Kennedy P. Burch, Joshua A. Holland, Nikki A. Crosser, Ginny, O. Cook, Courtney C. Cook, Clayton S. Cook and Mattie C. Cook. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Sunday, October 13th from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11am with Bro. Keith Hatter presiding.
