Fannie Barnes Osborne

At her home, Fannie K. Barnes Osborne, age 80, of Owenton, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Fannie was born to the late Garrett and Dorothy Branon Barnes on May 15, 1944, in Wolfe County, KY. On July 1, 1966, she married William C. "Dub" Osborne, who preceded her in death in 2005. Fannie was a pillar of the community who was involved until her passing.  She was a bookkeeper for Southern States for over twenty years, then owned and operated her restaurant, Fannie Kountry Kitchen, where she fed the community for many years. Fannie also served her community by teaching GED classes and helping many students complete their testing. She was a devoted member of Victory Baptist Church and volunteered at the Clothing Center and Meeting the Needs. Fannie will be remembered as always loving the people in her community, helping in any way she could, and being "Granny Fannie" to everyone.

Fannie will be deeply missed by her loving son, Bruce (Tammy) Osborne; her beloved grandson, Jordan Osborne; ten step-grandchildren; her siblings, Lillie (Williard) Perkins, Tillie (Tom) Barnett, and Calvin Barnes; as well as a host of extended family and a community of friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold, Charlie, Bill, and Acie Barnes.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with burial in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made the the funeral home in care of the family.
