Evelyn Sue Taylor

Evelyn Sue Taylor, age 76, of Owenton, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Owenton Manor.Born June 19, 1941, in Harlan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jerry Calvin Miracle and Nella Chasteen Perkins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Taylor.  Sue was a member of the Baptist faith and worked at Pic-Pac and IGA and also at the local hospital as a cook.  She is survived by her children, Timothy Joseph Melford, Tammy Sue Prather, Terri Dodson, Tom "Pete" Melford and Ricky Sturgeon; her sisters, Edith Gaskins and Rita Perkins; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 10am until 1pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1pm with burial in the Owenton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
