Evelyn White Slaughter

Evelyn White Slaughter, 90, of Owenton, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. Born April 2, 1918, in Aberdeen, OH, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Stella Sutton White and was preceded in death by her husband Marvin. Mrs. Slaughter was a member of the Long Ridge Baptist Church and retired from the Commonwealth of KY, having worked for the Department of Revenue and the Department of Education. She is survived by her son, Marvin Ray (Linda) Slaughter of Florence, SC; her daughter Betty Jo (Harold) Wainscott of Owenton; her sister, Alice Ramsey of Williamsburg, OH; four grandchildren, Donald (Anne) Taylor, Lori (J.O.) Powers, Sonny (Marla) Slaughter and Andy (Christy) Slaughter; five great grandchildren Kaleb Taylor, Drew Slaughter, Mary Hagan Slaughter, Mason Slaughter and Claire Irish and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Friday, December 26th, from 6-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 1pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery with Bro. Jesse Bourne and Bro. David Marlow officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Long Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund.
