Evelyn Hearne

Evelyn Hearne, age 78, of the Poplar Grove community, passed away December 29, 2022 at the Owenton Center. Born July 4, 1944, she is the daughter of the late Albion and Hettie Pace Hearne. Also, preceding her in death are a brother, Bobby Hearne, her nephew, Steve Hearne and great nephew Thomas Scott Hearne. Evelyn retired from the Division of Drivers Licensing with the state of Kentucky. She was a lifetime member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church. Evelyn will be remembered for her smile, laughter and the cards she never failed to send for birthdays and other occasions. Her love of her home, church and community was unwavering. She will be missed by her extended family and many friends. She is survived by her brothers: Don Hearne, Billy (Barbara) Hearne, nephews; Scotty (Madge) Hearne, Mike (Mindy) Hearne, nieces; Pam (Lanny) Patton and Rebecca Hearne. Also surviving are her great nieces and nephews: Josh and Shane Patton, Carter, Anna, Kylee, Travis (Jordan), Emily, Brandon and Jake Hearne. One great great nephew, Dawson Hearne, also survives. She was a prized Aunt to all of her nieces and nephews, young and old. She cherished each and every one of them. McDonald and New Funeral Homes are in charge of the arrangements. Family will receive visitors, at 11:00 am, January 4, at the Main Street location. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm and burial will take place at the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Poplar Grove Baptist Church.
