Eula "Poppy" Jane Perkins

April 29, 1931 — May 13, 2018

Eula Jane "Poppy" Perkins, age 87, of Owenton passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Owenton Center.

Born April 29, 1931 in Bath County, KY she was the daughter of the late Herman and Ola Ruth Ellis and the widow of Paul Perkins.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Orville, Tib, Claude, Lyle Ruth and Herman Jr. and Lillian Jurkiewicz.  Poppy was devoted to God, her church and her family.  She was a member of the Hesler Assembly of God and a homemaker.  She loved to garden and provide vegetables to others and her life's passion was to serve.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Shirley) Perkins and Joan (Scott) Power; her grandchildren, Shawn (Jennifer) Power, Shane (Rita) Power, Amanda (Nicholas) Dawn; great grandchildren Krista, Shelby and Kenzie Power; her twin sister, Beulah Vannarsdall and her other sister, Adda Florence McNulty.

McDonald& New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 4-8 pm.  Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday at the Hesler Assembly of God with visitation after 9am.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Van Pelt presiding.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hesler Assembly of  God or Gideons.
