Eugene Winkle

Eugene Winkle, 87, passed away Wednesday Feb. 29, 2012 in Lexington. He was born in Scott County the son of the late Earl and Frances Kidwell Winkle. He was also preceded by a granddaughter Lori Ann Price and siblings Carl and R.J. Winkle, Lucille Butcher, Pauline Brown and Doris Atha. Eugene was a farmer, a former employee at Formica Corporation and a 32nd degree Mason with Lodge #678 Mason, OH. He served in the Army during WW II. Surviving are his wife Christine Nall Winkle whom he married on Dec. 25, 1947, his son, Barry Winkle of Owenton, his daughter, Wanda Price of Owenton, two sisters, Margaret Morgan and Opal Glass. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Saturday, March 3 from 11-2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Rev. Dale Adkins presiding. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
