Ethel Tate Stivers, age 94, of Owenton, passed away October 23, 2013 at the Crestview Nursing Facility in Shelbyville, KY. Born January 5, 1919, in Midway, KY, she was the daughter of the late Allie and Mary Hockensmith Tate and the widow of Ollie Stivers. She was also preceded in death by 10 siblings. Mrs. Stivers was a former waitress and a member of the Pleasureville Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Darrell (Janetta) Keith of Owenton; her daughter, Violet (Coy) Logan of Shelbyville; her sister, Mary Marksberry; four grandsons, Keith (Tammy) Raisor, Seth Keith, Aaron (Gwen) Alexander and Andrew (Abby) Alexander; fiver great granddaughters, Kristy Raisor, Afton (Michael) Hornback, Abbigail, Clara and Olivia Alexander and one great grandson, Ethan Alexander; two great-great grandchildren, Kelsey and Cameron Sanders. Also surviving are two step-sons, Bob (Teresa) Stivers and Jimmy (Carol) Stivers; several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special sister in law, Ann Cook. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 10am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with her nephews, Bro Danny Marksberry and Bro. Greg Marksberry presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's own choosing.
