Mrs. Emma Jean Beckham, age 72, of Dry Ridge went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 5th at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas. She lived for over 40 years in Cincinnati. Born February 26, 1942, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Orville and Alice Dempsey Kemper and was preceded in death by her son, Terry Beckham. Mrs. Beckham was a homemaker; a member of Crossroad Baptist Church in Cincinnati and attended Victory Baptist Church in Owenton. She valued time with her family and took pride in cooking for them and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She loved flowers and attending yardsales and was dedicated to her church. Surviving are her husband of over 57 years, James Thomas "Jake" Beckham of Dry Ridge; her sons, James A. (Kim Brewer) Beckham of Nashville, TN, John M. (Susan) Beckham of Cincinnati and David L. (Bethany) Beckham of Louisville; her daughters, Tammy A. (Rob) Cox and Kelly F. (Eric) Wilder both of Cincinnati; her brother, Jackie (Rosie) Kemper of Dry Ridge; her sister, Phyllis Kemper of Dry Ridge; nine grandchildren, Bradley, Jaime, Terry, Jacob, Christopher, Andrew, Nicholas, Emmalea and Abigail and three great grandchildren, Caydence, Alysen and Peter. A host of extended family and friends also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Owenton on Monday from 10:30am until the time of the service at 1pm. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery with Bro. Jim Rhodes presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the Victory Baptist Church.
