Emma Mae Roberts Crume

Emma Mae Roberts Crume passed away Wednesday evening at the Woodcrest Manor in Erlanger. She was the daughter of the late Jordan Thomas Roberts and Olive Rebecca McDarment. Emma was preceded in death by her husband Harry Lee Crume, her daughter, Bonnie Lou Chapman, three brothers: Dodd Roberts, Johnny Roberts, and Wallace Roberts, and one sister, Ava Holt. Emma was a long time resident of Sparta Kentucky and worked there as a book keeper. Two years at the Sparta Lumber Yard, Seven years six months at Haymonds Department Store, 20 years at the Sparta Department Store, from where she retired. In the early forties, she helped organize the first Homemakers Club in the county. She served as the club President for one year. Emma was a member of the Sparta Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary for three years and taught youth Sunday School Class. Ms. Crume is survived by one grandson, Marc Todd Chapman of Edgewood, one grand daughter, Becky Howard of Sparta, six great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Visitation for Ms. Crume will be held on Monday, April 20th, from 10am until 2pm at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral services will begin at 2pm. with Rev. David Wotier officiating. Burial will follow in the Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
