Mr. Elmer David Hammond, age 80, of Perry Park, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at st. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. Born June 18, 1935, in Owen Conty, he was the son of the late Claude B. And Leona Littrell Hammond. Mr. Hammond was a cattle buyer, and a member of the baptist faith. He was a member of the Good Faith F & AM Lodge 95 where he was a 32 degree Mason and a Shriner. He also enjoyed guns and hunting. Surviving are his wife, whom he married on November 21, 1953, Lorraine Suttles Hammond; his daughters, Belinda (Jimmy) Alexander and Pamela Elaine Hammond; his sister, Jean Jones; five grandchildren, Aaron and Andrew Alexander, Doug Perkins, Angela Pulliam and Michelle Jones. Twelve great grandchildren also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, July 31st from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be at 11am Saturday with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
