Ella Jane Wright

Mrs. Ella Jane Wright, 83, of Owenton passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Owenton Center. Mrs. Wright was born January 25, 1932 in Owen County. She was one of thirteen children born to the late Sidney and Ava Wainscott Beckham. She was the widow of Arthur Ray Wright and a member of the South Fork Baptist Church. Ella farmed and was a homemaker all her life and also worked in the Owen County High School Cafeteria as well as the Owenton Manor in laundry. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, working crossword puzzles and reading. Most of all, she enjoyed longtime companionship from her pet, Bobette the cat. Surviving are her children, Angie (John) True, Steve (Cindy) Wright and Mark (Janet) Wright; her grandchildren, Matthew Wright, Colton (Erin) True, Thomas Wright and Claire True and her sister, Betty Davis. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 11am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. Jesse Bourne presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Church of one's choosing.
