Eliza Watson

Eliza Watson, age 97, of Owenton, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011, at the Owenton Manor. Born October 22, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Lola Green Vinegar and the widow of Riley Watson. Her children, Ollie & Phillip Nuby and Howard Jackson and her sister, Agnes Jackson, preceded her in death. Mrs. Watson was a member of the Owenton Second Baptist Church and was a homemaker as well as a farmer. Surviving are her son Theodore (Stella) Nuby of Owenton; her sister, Nellie Wheeler of Lexington and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Owenton Second Baptist Church on Monday, January 17th from 11am -2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm Monday with Rev. Christopher Hagen presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
