Elisabeth Margie Porter

Elizabeth Margie Platt Porter, age 82, of Owenton, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Grant County. Born December 27, 1938, in Russelsheim Germany she was the daughter of the late Jakob and Elisabeth Becker Platt. Mrs. Porter was a former administrative assistant for the Army and was stationed in the Pentagon for many years. She also was employed for 8 years at Kemper's Garage. Surviving are her husband John Porter; her daughter Deborah Elaine (Perry) Lowery and grandchildren, Jason and Sean Lowery. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
