Elinor Mae Sampson

Elinor Mae Sampson, age 76 and a resident of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, May 23rd, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence Kentucky. Born in Carroll County on March 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Henry O’Donovan and Freida Fortner. Elinor was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Elinor was a retired employee of the Gallatin County Board of Education and member of the Warsaw Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, Allen Sampson whom she married on October 28, 1950. She is also survived by two sons: Gary Sampson of Union, KY, and Danny Sampson of Warsaw; three daughters: Sandy Crawford of Carrollton, Connie Easton and Kathy Sampson both of Warsaw; and one brother: Harold O’Donovan of Carrollton. Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 25th, from 4 to 9pm at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 26th, at 11am. Burial will be in the Warsaw Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to one of the following: Gallatin Health Care, Gallatin County Ambulance Service, or the Hospice of St. Elizabeth.
