Edward Louis Smithson, age 65 and a resident of Warsaw passed away Saturday, May 5th. Born August 1946, He was the son of the late Henry Edward Smithson and Eva Christine Williams Smithson. Ed worked for CSX Railroad for 36 years and after retirement, served part-time as Bailiff for the county court system. He is survived by his wife, Nikki Berger Smithson of Warsaw, one son: Benjamin Bledsoe (wife Angela) of Warsaw; Four daughters: Laurie Koop (husband Dion) of Booneville In, Tracey Rice (husband Dave) of Florence Ky, Molly Carlton (husband Tony) of Warsaw and Rebecca Bex (husband Jonah) of Hebron, Ky; one sister: Susan Shirley of Independence, Ky. Ed is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: Bryce, Brady and Koby Carlton; Brent, Nathan and Matthew Rice; Kennedi, Kamrya and Mylee Bledsoe; Kailey Koop; Sawyer and Harper Bex and Hunter Groves and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 9th, from 12 until 5pm at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral services will begin at 5pm with Rev. Phil Case officiating. Burial will follow in the Warsaw Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
