Edna W. Herndon

Mrs. Edna W. Herndon, age 93, of Owenton passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the New Horizons Medical Center. Born June 29, 1921, in Owen County she was the daughter of the late John William and Bessie Orsburn Webster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard E. Herndon and her siblings, Opal Slaughter and Hobert Webster. Edna was an active member of Pleasant Home Baptist church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School for over 25 years. Late, she joined the New Liberty Baptist Church where she was active until her health began to fail. She was formerly employed by Dr. Scholl's and farmed with her husband. Surviving are her sister in law, Wanda Herndon as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Saturday, April 18th from 10am until 1pm. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Bro. Jesse Bourne and Bro. Dwight Parker presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Poplar Grove Cemetery Fund.
