Edith Rose Switzer, born on September 1, 1936, passed away on March 2, 2026. She lived a full life as a devoted homemaker and a dedicated farmer, leaving behind a legacy of love and hard work. Edith was known for her deep affection for hummingbirds and flowers, often spending her time enjoying nature's beauty. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, an accomplishment of which she was incredibly proud.

Edith is survived by her children, Joe Vernon Switzer, Rose Condalee Switzer, James Franklin Switzer, Beverly Sharon Madueno, Leonard Andrew Switzer, Barbara Joyce Hughes, Alfred Lowe Switzer, and John Wayne Switzer. She is also survived by her brother, Carl Mitchell, as well as 27 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will cherish her memory forever. Her love and wisdom will continue to inspire them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Eugene Switzer, and three of her children, Arietta Velda Beach, Laverna Lou Switzer, and Paul Anthony Switzer. Also welcoming her in peace are her siblings Beulah Bales, Geneva Newman, Virginia Clark, Viola Newport, Rebecca Mitchell, Kenneth Mitchell, and Robert Mitchell. Her father, William Louis Mitchell, and mother, Julia Elizabeth Clemons Mitchell Jones, along with many loved ones, will keep her memory alive in their hearts.

Visitation for Edith will take place on March 8, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Funeral Homes in Owenton, Kentucky. Her funeral service will be held the following day, March 9, 2026, starting at 1:00 PM, concluding at 2:00 PM, also at New Funeral Homes.
