Dr. Jeffrey Isaac Weinberg, age 36, of Lexington, passed away on April 30, 2015, after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was born on July 3, 1978 in Atlanta, Ga. Dr. Jeff, as many knew him, was the owner of Eastland Animal Hospital in Lexington and had been practicing veterinary medicine for 11 years. He was a graduate of Sarasota High School in Florida, the University of Florida and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Before focusing in small animal medicine, he completed an equine surgery internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. Jeff was an Eagle Scout, member of Alpha Epsilon Pi, the National Block and Bridle Club at the University of Florida and the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners. He is survived by his loving wife, Talia Weinberg; son, Trevor; daughter, Leryn; parents, Herman Richard “Dick” and Ellen (Merriam) Weinberg; brother, David Weinberg (Dawn); his in-laws, Dr. David & Tracy Ison, Mark Greene, Gene & Margie York and Diane Greene. He is also survived by his faithful Corgi, Tucker. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 2, from 11am - 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at New Columbus United Methodist Church, 1640 New Columbus Road, Corinth, KY 41010. Burial will follow at New Columbus Cemetery with Rev.
