Dovie Johnson

Dovie M. Johnson, age 74, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Dovie was born on March 7, 1950. She was the daughter of Clayton and Veatrice Boggs. She grew up with a loving family and multiple siblings - Harlin ‘Douglas’ (Marsha) Boggs, Harold Coffee, Eugene Boggs, and Carol Jean Charles.

Later, she extended her family, by having three children of her own - Tina Wood (Johnson), Clayton ‘Michael’ Johnson, and Malena Willis (Johnson).

But the love doesn’t stop there. She was blessed with 2 nieces - Ranee (John) Barlow, Angel (Bruce) Noland, 1 nephew - Jody (Jodi) Bogg, 3 great-nephews - Justin Noland, Ethan Boggs and Dallas Boggs, 2 great-nieces - Ashlee Hagans and Abigail Barlow, 1 great-great niece - Ava Noland-Harvey, 2 great-great nephews - KJ Rutan and Ryder Hagans, 3 grandchildren - Austin Willis, Austin Collins and Ayshia Searcy, and 3 great-grandchildren - James Wood, Learik Bartram and Harper Searcy. It’s safe to say, she was surrounded by so many people who loved her.

When she wasn’t at home binge watching Gunsmoke or Save The Last Dance multiple times in a row, she was at Amigo’s tearing up the dance floor and singing her heart out to some Patsy Cline on Karaoke Night. She swore she could hardly walk, but if there was music or a consignment shop, boy could she move. I know she’ll save a dance for us when we get there.

It’s hard to say goodbye and the world will be a sadder place without her around, but we’ll cherish these memories forever.

One last thing - I just hope Heaven doesn’t have ‘no scrubs’, because we don’t want none.
