Doris (Dottie) Jane Rogers Craigmyle       June 28, 1935 - December 10, 2025

Dottie passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on the morning of the 10th of December.

She was predeceased by her father and mother, Everett Rogers and Marion Rogers and her brothers Stanley, David and sister Patrician Ann Williams.

Surviving are her beloved brother Peter Gene Rogers, and his wife, Jean. Also surviving, her beloved husband of 68 years, Rev. Jim Craigmyle, her children, Timothy Roy Craigmyle ( Sherry), Carol Joy Perkins (Barry) and William Robert "Robby" Craigmyle. Dottie was blessed with grandchildren, Kiley Blair (Brian), Phillip Perkins (Crystal), Brent Craigmyle (Alison), Ryan Perkins (Allison) and Andrea Ammon (Bryan). Dottie and Jim have also been blessed with great-grandchildren, Spencer (Jenna)Blair, Ellie Blair, Emma Blair, Sophia Blair and Aubrey and Mallory Craigmyle; Laine Perkins (Cassidy), Brianna Perkins, Claire Perkins, Landen Perkins and Caden Perkins. Additionally, one great-great-grandson, Holden Perkins, with the blessing of two additional great-grands arriving in 2026.

Dottie began her life in Auburn, Maine and graduated from Edwards Little High School and continued her education at Central Maine General - School of Nursing, in Lewiston Maine.

In 1956, Dottie moved to Newport, Rhode Island, where she trained and worked as a dental assistant. Dottie immediately joined the United Baptist Church, where she joined the choir. Guess who was also singing in that choir? A young sailor by the name of Jim Craigmyle. There was a God-ordained, rapid attraction which has continued for more than 68 years. God's timing is ALWAYS the best timing.

Dottie and Jim married on June 8, 1957, in that same church, and the next year they welcomed their first child, Timothy Roy.

In 1959, due to ongoing educational pursuits, they moved to Massachusetts and Gordon College and then on to Belmont College in Nashville, Tennessee. Jim graduated from Belmont in 1966. While in Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, Dottie also took classes as they prepared for mission service.

1969 saw them boarding a flight to Beirut accompanied by their three children. A total of 17 years was spent in Middle East mission service. The numerous adjustments that Dottie and her family made as God led them along is a testament to how God can work in and through us when we place our faith in Him.

Dottie has always had a deep concern for her children and their well-being, and with the adjustments they have had to make.

During a sabbatical (1973-1978), Jim and Dottie were called to the pastorate of Owenton First Baptist Church. Over the course of their journey, they served churches in Tennessee and Kentucky. Upon return to the United States in 1990, Jim and Dottie were called to the pastorate of Williamstown Baptist Church, where they served for approximately 10 years.

The family is deeply indebted to Owenton Manor and the entire staff and residents, where Dottie lived for the last months of her life. Their love, care and support have blessed Dottie and her entire family.

Throughout Dottie and Jim's years of ministry and within their beloved family, Dottie's love for children and the desire to lead others to Christ was evidenced in her pursuits and actions. Her servant's heart and love for Jesus has been a blessing to all who have known her and our most fervent prayer on this day is that Dottie's witness will strengthen your faith in and love for our Savior, Jesus Christ.

A celebration of life will be held at Owenton First Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 1 pm. Visitation will precede the service from 11-1 pm. New Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
