Dorothy J. Young

Dorothy J. Young, 82, of Owenton, died Tuesday June 23, 2009 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY. Born October 13, 1926 in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Yancey and Gladys Conover Poteet and was preceded in death by her son, Donald Ray Young. Dorothy was retired from Schlumberger and had also worked at the Scholl’s Shoe Factory. She was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. Dorothy is survived by her husband George Young; her son Ed Young of Princeton; five grandchildren, John Edward Young, Dona Glore both of Sparta, Elizabeth Young of TX, Ben Young of Dry Ridge and William Young of St. Louis, MO; eleven great grandchildren, Amber, Alex, Taylor, Shelby, Stacie, Sabrina, Dristen, Vernon, JR., Madison, Tyler and Issaic. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street Location on Sunday, June 28th, from 1-3pm. Funeral Services will follow at 3pm with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Poplar Grove Cemetery.
