Dorothy Fitzgerald Wainscott

Dorothy Fitzgerald Wainscott, age 89, of Owenton passed away, Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Owenton Manor.

Born November 30, 1929, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Kelly and Beulah Smith Fitzgerald and the widow of James Wainscott.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Norvin, Buford, Melvin, Goldie and Frances Fitzgerald.  Dorothy retired from Fruit of the Loom, went on to work in the cafeteria at Owen County High School and finished her career at age 86 at Meadowview, where she worked in the deli. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and sewing and was a member of El Bethel Christian Church.

She is survived by her children, Wanda (Jeff) McDonald and Jimmy Dale Wainscott; her grandchildren, Angie Gibson, Andrew (Mindy) Gibson, Dale Marie (Jason) Wages, Christina (Adam) Riddle, Travis (Kollie Flanagan) Wainscott, Kelly (Alisha) Wainscott and Chad Wainscott; her great grandchildren, Dustin Gibson, Colton Hays, Cainnon Brumback, Dakota Anderson, Eli Anderson, Analeigh Wages, Clayton Riddle, Cody Riddle, Ember Wainscott, June Pope, and Tucker Wainscott. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Jean Howard of Frankfort.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, July 15, 2019 from 11 am until 2 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. Keith Miller presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to McDonald & New Funeral Homes.
