Dorothy Helen Jones

Dorothy Helen Jones, age 90, passed away Friday, July 17th, 2026.

Born February 2nd, 1936, in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of Ezekiel Cecil and Pearl Knatzer Cecil. Dorothy lived in Chicago with her husband until moving to Owenton, Kentucky in 1981 as a homemaker and worked as a home health aide for a period of time. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, puzzles, and spending time crocheting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her children Dorothy A. Haddix, Richard K. Jones; grandchildren, James Haddix, Julie Blanchfield, Anthony Jones, Deven Lanham, Amanda Jones, Anita Jones, Ethan Jones, Donna Jones, Valiene Jones, and several great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Boyed Jones; and her sons, Boyed Thomas Jones and Jay Edwin Jones.

Family will welcome friends at the Main Street location for a memorial gathering on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, from 12:00 pm- 2:00pm.
