Dorothy Judy Hawkins

Dorothy Judy Hawkins, 84, of Owenton, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Gallatin Health Care. Born August 20, 1924, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Lizzie Holbert Judy and was the widow of Boyd Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her twin sons, Arnold and Ronald Hawkins and sisters, Ruth Turpin and Lucille Osborne, also her brother; Curtis Judy. Mrs. Hawkins was retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Transportation Cabinet and was a member of the El Bethel Christian Church. Mrs. Hawkins is survived by her daughter Becky (Jack) Ogden and her son Phil (Pam) Hawkins of Owenton; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, April 17th, from 4-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 1 am Saturday at the funeral home with Bro. Ron Swiger, Bro. Jason Brown and Bro. Keith Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gallatin Healthcare Activities Fund or El Bethel Christian Church.
