Doris Barber Wihoite

Doris Barber Wilhoite, 77, of Owenton, passed away, Friday, June 13, 2008 at her residence following a long illness. Born March 2, 1931, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Mable Wright Barber and the widow of Milton C. Wilhoite. She was also preceded in death by sons, Melvin & Donnie Wilhoite; granddaughter, Stephanie Wilhoite; brothers, Ben & Willie Barber; half brother, Lenard Wright; sisters, Fannie Wright, Nancy Robertson and Eula Tolbert. Mrs. Wilhoite was a homemaker. She is survived by her three sons, Robert (Glenda) Wilhoite of Lockport, Wade (Dixie) Wilhoite of Owenton and Richard Wilhoite of Ohio; six daughters, Gladys (Lannis) Garnett of Owenton, Rena (Marvin) Sullivan of Lexington, Julia Adams, Owenton, Jane (Donnie) Sorrell of Rushville, IN, Linda Workman of Carrollton and Shirley Wilson of Warsaw; one brother, Herman Barber of New Liberty; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location, Monday, June 16th, from 4 until 8pm. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, June 17th, with Bro. Jesse Bourne officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Commonwealth K-9 Search & Rescue.
