Doris Bassett Rose

Doris Bassett Rose, age 96, of Owenton, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at the Owenton Center.

She was born on September 19, 1924 in Owen County, KY to the late William Benjamin and Dess Perkins Bassett. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Rose, her sister Roberta Burford, and brother-in-law, Jack Burford. She was a graduate of Bethany High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Owenton. During her life she enjoyed spending time with her family, antiquing, reading, needlepoint, and time with her Sunday School Class.

She was is survived by her daughters Mary Pace of Arizona and Lana (Lloyd) Vannarsdall of Owenton. Also surviving are four grandchildren Lindsay (David) Lightbody, Michael Vannarsdall, Matthew (Vanessa) Pace, Marc (Heather) Pace. She is aso survived by seven great-grandchildren, Laila Hamed, Liberty Lightbody, Isabella Pace, Maya Pace, Liam Pace, Wyatt Pace, and Holden Pace. Also, one niece Cathy (Raymond) Cornelison and one nephew John (Samantha) Burford.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Monday, February 1, 2021, from 11 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Brand Banks presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to either Owenton Center Resident Activity Fund, 905 Hwy 127 n, Owenton, KY 40359 or Owenton First Baptist Church, 213 North Main, Owenton, KY 40359.
