Dora Ruth

Dora Ruth, age 96, of Owenton, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 at Owenton Healthcare.

Born June 25, 1927, in Vevay, IN, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Addie Wainscott Littrell and was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Ruth, and her siblings, Leona Hammond, Charlie Littrell, Archie Littrell, and Rachel Cannon. She was a member of Beechwood Assembly of God and owned and operated Ruth's Upholstery for many years.  She also spent time working for Levi's, Hughes Nursing Home, and Carrollton ReDryer Warehouse.  Dora enjoyed cooking and raising a garden and loved everybody she met!

Surviving are her sons, Gary Ruth and Marlon (Jeannie) Ruth; grandchildren, Carl Wesley, Angie O'Neal, Mark Stewart, Kevin Stewart, Jeff Ruth, Linda Duvall, and Amy Ruth; ten great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 11 am until 2 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. Curt Smith presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
