Donald L. Wilcox, 73, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020, in Lexington. He was born in Joplin MO the son of the late John A. and Hazel L. Glover Wilcox. He was preceded in death by his siblings, John Wilcox, Kathy Cooper, Linda Bussey, and Wanda Breen. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and worked as a bookkeeper for many years and was also a property manager for a public storage company as well as a massage therapist. He was an animal lover especially dogs and cats. He raised several wild baby animals over the years. He was very patriotic always having the flag flying. He is survived by his partner of over 40 years, Mark Atha, a brother, William Wilcox; nephews, Glen Bussey, Greg Melvin, and Bill Wilcox; and nieces, Christy Lunsford, Tammy Cooper, Wendy Emanuelson, Shannon Dalton, Kimberly Wilcox, and Rhonda Wilcox. A celebration of life will be held at McDonald & New Funeral Home-Main Street on Thursday, March 19 at 6:00 PM with visitation beginning at 5:00 PM. Memorials may be given to The Nature of Wildworks.
