Donald Ray Bishop

Donald Ray "Don" Bishop, age 87, of Owenton passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center.

Don was born June 14, 1935 in the South Fork community of Owen County to the late Bernice Bishop Baker. He was a member of South Fork Baptist Church  and served his country in the United States Army. Don worked as a butcher for Eades Grocery, was a local barber for over 15 years, and went on to retire from the United state Postal Service.

Don is survived by his wife, who he married on June 23, 1956, Betty Perkins Bishop; his son, Barry (Brandie) Bishop; his great grandsons, Logan Wagers and Ethan Young; as well as a host of cousins.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 4 - 8 pm.  Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday with Bro. Roger Alford presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to South Fork Baptist Church or St. Elizabeth Hospice.
