Don Lee Wainscott

Don Lee Wainscott, age 66, of Owenton passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Owenton Healthcare.

Born March 20, 1956, in Owenton, he was the son of the late Donald Lee and Betty Dowd Wainscott.  He was preceded in death by his faithful companion, his dog, Pugsley. Don Lee farmed with his family and was a dedicated member of Owenton First Baptist Church where he enjoyed being with his church family and attending church meals.  He especially enjoyed Wednesday morning prayer meeting with a group trip to the pool hall after. Don Lee was a passionate sports fan of both the University of KY Wildcats  and the Owen County Rebels. He enjoyed watching all types of sports and most recently celebrating the Lady Rebels Golf team Regional tournament win.

Don Lee will be missed by his brothers, David (Felechia) Wainscott and Doug Wainscott; his nieces, Tyne (Aaron) Nieman, Sagan (Mikael) Pelfrey, and Jensen (Nathan) Brown; and his great nieces & nephews, who he called his grand-babies, Kemper Nieman, Linden Pelfrey, Charlston Pelfrey, Lakelyn Nieman, and Wells Pelfrey.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 11 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Bro. Brad Banks presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Don Lee's memory may be made to Owenton First Baptist Church.
