Diana "Marlene" Mason

Mrs. Diana "Marlene" Mason, age 65, of New Liberty, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born December 9, 1946, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Alice Parker Poe. She was preceded in death by her step-grandson, Drew Mason. Mrs. Mason retired from the Northeast Georgia Hospital. She was a member of the Homemakers and the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Delbert Mason; her son William Souder of Carnesville GA; her daughter, Alicia (Tim) Roach of Commerce GA; her brother, Ricky Poe of Owen County; her granddaughter Ursula Souder; nephew, Ricky Poe, Jr.; niece, Michaela Poe; stepsons, Ricky, Rodney and Randy Mason and step grandchildren, Hunter, Andrea, Ryan, Miranda and Samantha. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Sunday from 2-6pm. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
